CITIZEN TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
OHIO T.A.P. (TERRORISM
AWARENESS & PREVENTION)

The Perry
Township Police Department now offers Ohio TAP Training
TAP is a program
designed specifically for Ohio Citizens to help combat terrorism. The 40
minute presentation taught by Perry Officers and is offered for your
civic group, business or organization. The program is designed to:
-
Provide
residents with critical information on terrorists goals and threats;
-
Teach residents
about terrorism to prevent abuses from ignorance and prejudice;
-
Demonstrate how
residents may protect themselves through safety and security
planning;
-
Encourage
partnerships with residents, law enforcement, first responders,
community service providers, and
-
Identify way
Ohioans can actively participate in building safer neighborhoods and
communities.

C.A.T. EYES TRAINING

now offers nationally recognized C.A.T. Eyes Training
WATCHING AMERICA WITH
PRIDE, NOT PREJUDICE
This training is offered in a
one-hour presentation for your civic group, business or organization.

NEW CITIZEN POLICE ACADEMY SCHEDULED
The Perry
Township Police Department will soon be hosting the 7th
Citizen's Police Academy. The class is held for 3 hours per night, one night a
week, for 11 weeks. The class is designed to show residents an overview of
police work and increase awareness of the importance of the relationship between
citizens and the police. The course will include classroom instruction, hands-on
exercises, and a four-hour ride along with an on-duty officer.
The academy is open to Perry Township residents over the age of 18. There is a
$35.00 charge for the 11 week course to help cover costs of materials.
Participants will receive a shirt, notebook, and other materials.
Topics of discussion include:
-Laws of Arrest
-Search and Seizure
-Terrorism
-use of Force
-Firearms
-Crime Scene Investigation
-Cybercrime (Computer Crime)
-Domestic Violence / Crimes against Children
-Driving under the influence
-S.W.A.T.
-Traffic Stops
-Crash Investigation
-C.O.P. Program, DARE, SRO
-Municipal courts and tour of the jail

Police Department. The class is limited to 15 personnel, so have you application
